Quebec Writers’ Federation

Shailee participated as a panelist in “Navigating the Impacts of Bill 96,” a discussion which took place on October 18, 2023 at the Atwater Library Auditorium in Montreal. Curated by the Quebec Writers’ Federation (QWF) as part of their ‘Writers Out Loud’ series, the event focused on discussing Bill 96’s effects on Quebec’s language landscape. Alongside Shailee, authors Vanessa Sasson and Christopher Neal shared their insights, with the session moderated by Guy Rex Rodgers. The panel addressed implications of the bill on arts funding, linguistic barriers faced by newcomers in Quebec, and the evolving cultural identity of the province.
